Here are those 7 Steps in more detail
  1. This means that you get to be creative and try to be unique when you're trying to come up with a domain name. You might choose something like "www.whatever.com".
  2. Now, you need to check to see if that domain name is available. Do that by checking the database on the Website Resource Page. It will also recommend some alternative domain names if the one you chose is already taken. Tip: choose a domain name that is easy to say and easy to type. Also avoid using any special characters like hyphens "-" or numbers in your domain name.
  3. Once you found that your domain is available, you'll need to register it to you. This just means that you need to buy it (usually costs about $10-$15 per year). Once you buy it, it will be registered to you and only you for the duration of the registration. So if you bought the domain for three years, it will be belong to you for those three years. You can buy it for one year or as many as 20 years - it's all up to you!
  4. Next, you'll need a website hosting company that will store your website. And there are a ton of these hosting companies out there. Check my Website Resource Page for the companies I recommend. They will also provide you with your very own email accounts and other useful website tools. Sign up for a hosting account. Hosting companies offer you a monthly subcription or yearly which usually carries more of a discount. These prices usually range from $5-$10 per month for simple websites. If you're confused about which hosting packages to go with, feel free to contact me and I can help you pick the right one.
  5. Next, the fun part of designing your website. This is where I come in and what I charge you for. I can make any kind of site you wish. Please take a look at my Website Gallery to get an idea. It might take as little as 1-2 weeks to design a website or it could take a lot longer. This depends on how much content you want to put on the website. My prices are here.
  6. After the domain has been registered, a hosting account has been purchased, and the website is designed, the only thing left is to upload (publish) the newly designed website to the Internet. I will take care of this and it usually only takes a matter of a few minutes to upload to the world wide web.
  7. That's all there is to it. Enjoying viewing your site on the Internet! Tell your friends!
